After a fantastic 2 weeks in Orlando, it was time to head for MCO :#

We dropped our SUV off at Alamo before heading straight to the UC check in area so we wouldn't have to pull our cases about. Check in was quick and easy and within minutes, we were handed our boarding cards and lounge invitations.

Mrs J participated in some shopping and I got the very important job of carrying the shopping about.

We had arrived at MCO fairly early for our 1625 hr flight in order to beat the traffic with it being Memorial Day weekend. We were aware from previous visits that the DL lounge at MCO was fairly poor, so we decided to eat at a restaurant prior to clearing security.

Once we had eaten, we headed straight to security and were able to use the priority security facility, which to be honest was a massive bonus. MCO was extremely busy and we were at the body scanners within minutes.

We boarded the monorail and off we went to the DL lounge. Once within, I ordered Mrs J and myself some drinks from the bar which were served to us at our table along with a small selection of nuts.

Having read elsewhere on the forum and from previous experience, the DL lounges offer no real food options and to be perfectly honest, I think they are extremely poor!!

Thankfully, time passed quickly and we were called for our flight - we were flying on - English Rose. Once onboard, the usual drinks orders were taking whilst we were handed our pre-flight champagne. After enduring the DL lounge, I must admit, the UC cabin was a very relaxing and welcome place to be y) The FSM came and welcomed Mrs J and I back onboard, which was a nice.

We departed on time and shortly after take off, our drinks were delivered and meal service began shortly thereafter. (I cannot remember what the menu options were with the exception of a Tuna and sesame seed something for starters - which was delicious!).

After meal service, it was time to get the head down for a few hours sleep. We both got about 3 hours before getting woken by a young baby crying, which is just one of those things that no one can control. I actually felt bad for the parents as they genuinely looked embarrassed about their child wakening others up. I went to get a cup of tea and the father approached me and apologised (I told him not to worry as it's just one of those things which happens).

Breakfast service was fine, nothing spectacular, however far better than what I have had on BA flights in the past.

We landed in Glasgow 20 minutes early and were off the plane in no time. Baggage reclaim was a breeze and our cases were sone of the first off.

On arriving home, I had a letter from VS. I opened it up and it was a letter from Craig Kreeger apologising for the problems Mrs J and I had experienced on the VS71 with our IFE and seat (see previous TR). I personally thought that this was a very nice touch and definitely made us feel like a "valued customer" as quoted by Mr Kreeger. The letter was on top of the 12,000 miles which we had already been credited with.

To sum up our return flight, it was again a great experience with the CC doing everything in their power to make it that.

How refreshing to read a brace of TR's which could have been full of moans but weren't. Good karma clearly follows you around and so it should.

Thanks for taking the time to write it. y)

Nice trip report, thanks.

Shame about the baby but the parent was probably on edge for the whole 8 hours trying to make sure it didn't disturb anyone. You had a great attitude probably helped make the parent feel better.

I'm there next month but won't be in the DL lounge sounds like I'm not missing out anyway.

Glasgow either pretty quick or painfully slow at that time of the morning.
