VS 86 Las - Man (upper class) 24th July
So this was my final travel on a great west coast road trip and really turned out to be a trip of a lifetime.

Firstly I will say thanks to previous posts again on the AMS trick, everything worked out great, and even got my bags. So thanks honey lamb for the advice ii)

Check in - no queue and ground staff managed to check bags to Manchester ^)

Used the new vegas lounge in terminal 3. Fairly basic but as it was new think it looked pretty good staff very helpful. Still nothing beats LHR clubhouse.

Called fairly early for boarding, unlike in LHR clubhouse when me and my good lady were told to relax and wait for the second and have a second cocktail ii)

Again managed to bag seats seq 7 and 8 the seats being 6 a and k. Had 12 a & k going out from LHR. I did hear someone else wanted those seats, but hey early bird catches the worm y)

Greeted by CC who offered a drink and an OJ was taken and Buck's Fizz by other half. Cabin in upper was two short, but no takers on any upgrades. After take off I did eye the bar, as going out I was driving straight away so didn't take advantage of it, however this time we owned it. :D

Was greeted by both FSM who did ask us and another family how our trip had been, and had a general chat. That I thought was a well experienced FSM.

Shortly after take off, was told the flight was going to be 8 hr 25 mins. I was then greeted by CC for what meal I wanted, i appreciated the introduction, but my wife got no formal introduction v( I could sense her annoyance as we were clearly together.

Food was ordered and it was tomato and leek soup and beef fillet y) I said going out VA have improved this area, and again food was spot on.

After tea I got talking to a family who had done a similar road trip, so present exchanges completed, and on way back from visit to toilet, bar was free. Well me and my new found friend hit the bar for a good few hours to discuss a good variety of issues. We kept noise low people were attempting to sleep. Several drinks later we departed the bar and I managed an hours sleep or so before landing.

Again all in all another great flight and all thanks to those who provided information information on the AMS trick and then having faith that it will work.

Sounds like a good trip VK so thanks for the TR. y) y)

How did the AMS trick work for you, did you do the first leg or just rock up to LHR for your VS flight? And I assume you didn't fly back AMS. ):

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. A west coast road trip is firmly on our list (will probably need to wait till 2016, though), so may I ask what your highlights were please? Our plan is to fly to SFO, drive down the west coast pacific highway and then to Grand Canyan, and then Vegas before flying back :)
