After a good few days of meetings just south of Washington, including a great dinner and tour of the sights of DC y) , it was time to head home.

Security was odd, I was put into the TSA pre-screened queue even though I hadn’t been screened. No requirement to take anything out of my bag or remove shoes etc. It was easy but it felt as if it should not have been that easy. :? I thought the US were supposed to have heightened security checks recently, not reduced them? Anyhow, quickly through which is always a blessing. IAD isn’t the most interesting airport and the shops and facilities are not great so after buying the obligatory litre of Tanqueray :w export strength and drinking large one of the same at a bar, I headed to the gate.

Apologies, I didn’t do so well at getting the name of the aircraft or the number of people on board on the return trip but suffice to say, it was pretty full in all classes. I had booked an extra leg room seat which I assumed would be an exit row or a bulk head so was somewhat surprised to find that it was actually in a section of seating within the main cabin. I guessed they have removed four rows and replaced with three. The seat was OK, and I certainly had enough leg room. Best of all, when the seat in front reclined, it didn’t end up in my lap ^) .

Not much to report for this flight, food was OK, about what I expected in Y. CC were efficient and seat was comfortable enough for me to sleep for a few hours and doze for the rest. I was very grateful for my noise cancelling headphones as it seemed very noisy in the cabin.

Landed on time, thankfully no circling over London for ages, and straight through customs. Very short queues for both digital and regular passports.

Overall, a good solid economy flight. More comfortable than I expected but shall not be swapping out our UC seats to MCO next Feb ;) ;) .

Thanks for reading

Thanks for the TR. Like you say - a solid EC flight.
I didn’t do so well at getting the name of the aircraft

You were on Diamond Girl - G-VGEM |:)

I've had TSA pre-screening on two recent US domestic flights. Apparently you get this with some programmes, Global Entry for instance, but they also select randomly which presumably happened to you and to me. Does make life easier once you've grasped the new requirements and don't fall foul by removing gadgets from bags unnecessarily.

Must find time to do three TRs and one more to come next Monday. It's a hard life jetting around :w
