My first trip to shanghai on business and first trip report. We arrived via the business parking to terminal 3 and checked straight in although I had checked in online the day before and got seq 7 & 8 which I think is not to good. I asked if they had any seats in row 18 and was told rather shortly no! We had passes for the servisair lounge via American express so headed there. I have to say it was not good and I am glad we didn't actually pay for them.

Once we got to the gate the flight was already boarding so we got straight on. The cabin crew were very welcoming and I was impressed with the seats. They looked much more comfortable than further back in economy. It took a while to be offered a drink but was lovely to have a proper glass albeit an orange juice for me but my colleague had a cava. We were about 15 minutes late taking off but the captain announced the flight time today would be only 10 hours and that we would land an hour and a half ahead of schedule.

The seat belt signs were off pretty quickly and service commenced. The overall service was good as it was much quicker than out back, but it was not really what I expected PE to be. I guess I have got to used to flying up front. The meal was ok I had the beef casserole and it was laid on a small table cloth with proper cutlery. The beef was a little chewy in places. We had breakfast before landing and I have to say that was really good.

The flight was smooth all the way and that was a bonus as I am a nervous flyer. So my first experience of premier economy in a long time was basically good the seat was comfortable, the only downside is the recline is pretty good but if the person in front reclines fully the seat was touching my knees. I found the cabin was kept to cold during the flight but that's just me as my colleague was fine.

I liked the extra touches you get, like ice cream and cookies. Menu cards and the little bags with essential items like ear plugs and toothpaste. The one annoying thing was the toilets. I had assumed they were for premium economy as they were behind the curtain but I always had to wait for ages and when the person came out they disappeared behind the curtain back to economy, maybe that's allowed but with only 2 toilets it made it a long wait with economy passengers using them as well.

We landed well ahead of schedule and all in all a good flight. Will let you know how I get on, on the return flight.

Thank you for the TR. Sounds like a decent flight, and I'm glad that it was a smooth ride :)

Servisair is not a name I would associate with great lounges...

Thank you for the TR. I agree its not so good in PE when the person in front fully recline their seat, I usually end up with bruised thighs trying to get out of my seat to use the loo. I hope you have a good trip in Shanghai and a safe return flight.

Interlopers in to the PE toilets on A346's is a known issue. People don't seen to understand that the curtain is there for a reason.

Also VS don't seem to be able/willing to do anything about it.

One of the PE passengers Sat next to the toilet told a passenger from economy he could not use it and sent him packing. It did make me chuckle.
