Checked in at the UC desk as Mr D is a AU card holder. We were told the load for economy was very light and if we wanted to move to different seats after take off we could. y)
I have already mentioned the American lady having a rough time in the private security channel, we had no problems and sailed through to the CH very quickly. :)
We had the usual attentive service and a good selection of food and drink in the CH. We enquired about the emergency exit seats which were still free and told if they were still free an hour before departure we could have them free of charge. As there was plenty of room in economy we decided it would be worth waiting. On checking back the emergency exits were still available and we were given seats 50H&K. :D
On boarding we found someone sitting in my seat, he tried bluffing it out saying he had paid for the seat. However I had the boarding pass for the seat, he didn't and was soon despatched to the back of the plane by the cabin crew. ): The young CC lady Grace ( Permission given to use her name ) looking after our side of the cabin came to check we were OK. She was the sweetest most adorable person and from then on treated us has if we were her own parents, making regular checks to see if there was anything we needed and making Mr D a cup of coffee in the middle of the night. She is an absolute credit and a great ambassador for Virgin Atlantic.
I only picked at the food having eaten in the CH but it was a little tasteless and uninspiring. n( The nicest thing was the hot chocolate.
Just before landing the FSM came to speak to us to ask how the flight was and to give us fast track immigration cards because of Mr D Au status. y) This is the first time this as happened and we fly this route quite often.
Just before departing we discovered Grace would be on our return flight and although we were travelling back in PE she came to find us to have a chat and check we were OK.

Thanks for the TR daffodil, baffling why people argue about being in the right seat when they know they don't have the boarding pass with that seat number on it ,grace sure does sound like a credit to VS , maybe a letter to HQ is in order ?
Hope you had a good break,You must be due another soon ?

I had a guy in my seat on an Emirates flight from DUB to DXB. In spite of all the neighbouring passengers asserting he was in my seat, he refused to move until the cabin crew intervened. I was stuck next to him for the next seven hours! :0
