Hello! Magazine Cookery Section

For my money, the cookery segment at the back of Hello! Magazine is among the best in the world. Great recipes, easy to understand and produce, and they often take the chance to highlight a seasonal British food or awareness campaign (English Cheese Week, for instance). The best recent installment was the recipes for the Queeen's birthday dinner competition.

Does anyone else love this section as much as me? What other publication's regular cookery features do you find useful?

Also, while I find Ramsay's cookbooks to be like foodie porn (I love to read them in bed LOL), they are well-nigh impossible to follow and recreate. I much prefer Jamie Oliver's cookbooks for ease and ultimate result. Anyone disagree? Anyone have other cookbooks they love?

It is probably the best section of the magazine for my money! I completely agree with you, the recipes are often very mouthwatering and whilst we rarely recreate them, both of us enjoy reading them and pinching ideas.

Absolutely, totally, 100%, such as:

* six things you can do with leeks (well I can think of a few)
* tasty titbits with kettle fish

... and the like. I almost always turn to it first.

If you want impossible to follow, try the original River Cafe cook book and the lemon tart recipe ...
