the FC is running a promotion with ftd, bonus 300 miles if you buy from them, so go get those roses guys, charge it on your VS cc (BA if you live over here) may as well earn some extra miles when you know how much trouble you will be in if you don't get her them anyway.

Sorry - but when it comes to Valentines Day then you can call ME Mr Scrooge - It sucks!! I think it is a blatant attempt by the card and flower companies to make easy money - along with Father's Day, Mothering Sunday and all the other 'ing Sundays!!

Bah Humbug!![V]

yeah ok, np, so other than Mark who it seems isn't buying his wife roses for valentines day...anyone else think that the idea of not having your other half talk to you for a week because you are to cheap to buy her flowers is a bad idea [?]

Hang on a mo though..peace and quiet for a whole week...not such a bad idea [:0]

No, he just knows that every now and again you have to do that something special for the woman in your life.

While I understand where you are coming from (Paul the site designated bachelor for life take note) HL, the thread title is what ?

Hey Bazz, why not send Hl that joke, I am guess you know the one I am talking about [:0]

the thread title is what ?

So is this what Mrs Pankhurst and her cohorts fought for? Is this what Emily Davidson threw herself under the King's horse for.....

....so that you could have a men only thread? [V]

And if I posted a "For women only" thread, would you look? You bet your sweey bippy you would.

In any case who says St Valentine's Day is just for the ladies? Isn't love a two way street?

If you posted a for womens only thread, I would not look, I respect the wishes off other members and try to be as cooperative as possible when ever I can, rather than disrupting the flow of a thread. [8D]

Are you saying I wouldn't, I have spent most of the afternoon answering questions for NickDolphin !, my fingers are bleeding I have been typing so much, some woman keeps sending me PM's waffling on about nothing, so I have to answer those..and be nice with it as well [:#]

Correct me if I am wrong (but being a man I can't be wrong) didn't [b] we[b/] give you the right to vote ? the least you could do is make me a cup off tea and say thank you, but no, you have to keep answering me back.

Next you'll want the right to drink in the same social clubs [:0]

Ahem! Who started the PM's? Here I am trying to slope off and get my beauty sleep - OK, that's a bit of a lost cause, but you get my drift. Instead I am trying to promote the fact that women should be equally nice to men on Valentine's Day and I get castigated for it [:?] Yes, men did give us the vote. Who else could do it? Monkeys? Oh, sorry - same thing! [:w] I am merely upholding that tradition by saying we have the right not only to read the thread but also to pamper our menfolk

Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go and build myself a barricade against the womenfolk who, no doubt, once they have risen from their well-earned slumber, will come howling with vengeance at me for spoiling their day and being disloyal to the cause [:0]

Ladies, put it down to sour grapes! I ain't going to get no flowers, choccies and champagne [:#] But just bear in mind - neither is Mrs MarkJ [:w]

Valentine's faux pas...last year I was working out in Richmond VA for a couple of weeks at this time of year. No problem, pick appropriate website, order flowers, get them delivered to partner's school as no-one in at home. At the time, it could be a problem getting things delivered to the school as it was a new build in a new development and often websites didn't recognise the postcode, so I had an email conversation with the company and they assured me all would be well.

"Did you like the flowers ?"
"What flowers ?"
"You mean they didn't deliver them ? I made sure that they had the right address for the school"
"Why do they need the school address......"
"Well...
".... it's half term"
"...errrr...."
(Silence)
"Do you listen to anything I tell you about my life?"

Frosty atmosphere for a few days after that...

Paul

I once cooked a really nice valentines dinner for my first wife - A really great Thai meal, so pretty hard work. Anyway, I really fancied myself in the kitchen as Keith Floyd at the time, so had the bottle close to hand. Unfortunately it was a little too close to hand, and I fell asleep at the dining table. But it was a really nice sleep, and now we are divorced, so all's well that ends well.:)

Now back to HL's tirade. Well I will get a card on the 14th, and maybe a kiss if I am behaving. To balance against that, you all know what the Rear Admiral will be given, and no doubt I will end up cooking a nice dinner. So is love a two way street? Der, no! ;)

Why did this Emily (Who was a lady) throw herself under the kings horse BTW? Did she what equal rights with horses? I am sure that could be allowed if you ladies feel strongly about it.
