After my recent trip to SF via LAX, I felt compelled to write....

I've found the LHR/LAX flights to be loaded with famous peeps. Once spent my entire 11 hours talking to the boss of Fox Europe, who was a nice bloke. However:

My famous peeps list is as follows:

Charlie (Dominic) and Kate from Lost last year (got Dom's sig whilst waiting for the bags at LHR)

Peter O'Toole and Rosamund Pike (Bond Girlie) Two weeks ago

Ashley jensen and Michelle Ryan (zoe slater / jamie summers) a week ago....

Have yet to share a flight with SRB though!

On my recent trip back from DXB in December, the CEO of the Jumeirah Group was with us in UC. Also when in the CH I saw Ivana Trump and Natalie Imbruglia on my way to DXB, Natalie was on one of the LAX flights.

All Americans for my sightings: sat behind Jim Carrey (who acted the jerk), next to Bill Plante (CBS News), next to Charleton Heston and his son, behind Gene Hackman, behind Tom Selleck (Magnum, PI) twice, in front of Dr. Joyce Brothers, next to exercise guru Richard Simmons -- again, twice (he remembered me).

A shade off topic here: Of all the celebs I've met over the years I particularly liked TV personalities Suzanne Pleshette (Bob Newhart Show) and David Hyde Pierce (Frasier). Both seemed so completely unaffected by stardom. Biggest celeb coup: being seated next to Walter Cronkite at a charity luncheon; we chatted for about a half hour on topics like what he thought of the JFK assassination (he said he nearly cried when he heard JFK was dead).

Had a quick chat with Kelly Holmes to JNB about a year and a half ago + same flight as Johnny Vaughan from NY (both in UC)

I'm sure there are others but my memory doesn't seem to stretch further back then two years[:I]

Last trip out to LAX we shared a row in PE with Ralph Little - nice chap and quite chatty.

A few years ago I sat in front of Nigel Kennedy on an Alitalia flight to Milan - he had his little boy with him and he came across as a really good Dad!
Also seen Anthony Head and an actor whose name STILL escapes me....you know, that bloke off the telly.....

Luckily LHR/LAX runs have been 'diva' free!!!

Cheers

Tony

I've shared a flight with him - well perhaps not 'shared' a flight. He doled out the pretzels and drinks on the inaugural Friday flight from MCO. Mind you this was (from memory) over 15 years ago :D

He was really friendly but made rather a hash of pouring the drinks which gave his 'minder' (CC) something to chortle about [:p]

She was the president of the condominium association for a building my friend lived in, in West Hollywood. She's the bee's knees...very cool.

As long as we're OT here, it's a small world, GJ. I had friends in two apartments in that building! The amazing thing is that I met these two people about 20 years apart and they both lived in that building.

I met the charming Sir Richard Branson himself in First Class on the Eurostar from Brussels to London. He was sitting in the carriage next to mine. I've still got his autograph somewhere about.

Edited: This was 7 years ago.

OMG OMG OMG!!!! I'm giddy as a schoolgirl...you flew with Paul Weller (watch it, Shaz, "Wellar" is almost that dog on EastEnders) and Giggsy?!!?!

I would fall down and die if any of them came within 50 feet of me.

Well done!!!

GJ
Sorry GJ - spelling not my good point. He was lovely, my best mate was 40 a few weeks after and he adores him (his cat was called Weller) so I spoke to him and asked him if he would mind signing something for him. I had a copy of NME with the advert for the upcoming tour and he wrote on it 'To (my mate) Happy 40th Paul Weller' I can't tell you how happy my mate was - best present ever, now framed and in pride of place in the hall :D
