Trying to pass some time while dinner is cooking and waiting for Mr L2H to get home.

We are having

A bottle of Pinot Grigio - already open quite a lot gone [:0]

Home made chicken curry
Home made basmati rice with onion and cumin
Home made chapattis - tricky but worth it !

Pudding - Not very Indian but it's one of our faves - Lemon Meringue Pie (not home made, from Waitrose)

Happy Friday !

L2H

I skipped dinner, and i'm having a lovely glass of White Grenache, complimented by assorted cheeses and Carrs water biscuits!. Though, after reading this, i think i'll find an excuse to be round the Deckers at tea-time! :D

Thanks,
Sarah

I had scampi chips(out of the freezer) and mushy peas(Mrs JPs home soaked ones). Then we had a few bottles of plonk from our very own Tescos wine lake. The wine must have been ok as I have no thick head this morning.

Last night we went to the Fat Duck in Bray and had the best meal I have EVER had!! Heston Blumenthal is a genius!!

If you ever get the chance to go then go - try the tasting menu with the recommended wines - sheer sheer excellence!!

I guess with a tasting menu you are in the hands of the chef - and food is such a subjective item - however even if someone did not actually like the items in the dishes the skill that was used to prepare and serve them was out of this world!! It was the master craftsman at work!!

Wow, not had a chance to come back to my post since Friday.
I am now feeling hungry and it's 9.30 on Monday morning.[:I]

Bray is quite close to where we live. We have not eaten at The Fat Duck, but have tried The Hinds Head which Heston also owns and is next door.
If you don't fancy the Fat Duck then this is a great alternative.
The hotpot was fabulous and as for the twice fried chips..[:X]

Ouch! bad lack.... I suffer enough when missing a bed time cuppa and breakfast before a "fasting" cholestrol test....
Still, when I do sneak a bowl of cornflakes it gets my doctor worrying.
