I got an email yesterday supposedly from Comet online, it looked like the normal site, it says that from 12noon to 3pm there will be a 40% discount, three hours only whilst stocks last etc.
Anyone know if its real or is it one of those more professional looking scams.

What's the web site? Who registered it? When was it registered?

Sounds like a scam to collect credit card details.

I'd go with "buy it"!

Ten minutes and counting...I wonder which items will be discounted.

The items are up, and the Toshiba 26" widescreen I wouldn't mind having isn't there [:(].

We were looking last summer and prices were ridiculous, but that was when temps were hitting 35 degrees [:0]
Homebase have one with higher BTU and a timer for £170 so Comet doesn't seem like quite a bargain now. Oh well...no surprise [ii]

That Sony TV is good, but the 1080p one will probably be a similar price in six months so I will wait.
It just goes to show how all the scams and spams affect business, I was thinking the whole thing was likely to be a fake website. Unless its sorted legitimate business on the web will suffer.
