I would like to wish all of our English members a very Happy St. Georges' day. So, go out tonite, have umpteen pints of strong bitter, followed by some lovely fish and chips. Small fact you might not know, it is also William Shakespeares' birthday, and the day he died.
P.S. Have I put the apostrophe in the right place[?]

Or indeed if we have any members from Bulgaria, Portugal, Catalonia or the Gora - where he is also the parton saint. Georgia and Serbia
also celebrate St George's day although strangely not on the same day.

Happy SGD one and all - especially if you are/have been/aspire to be a scout as St George is their patron saint.

I heard some stuff on the radio today that actually St Edmund should be England's patron saint with his saints day in November. Without doing any research on this whatsoever - so from memory something reminds me that St George was "put" upon us by the Normans - or something??

I love the fact that it could be Edmund - as this is Blackadder's name!![y]

And a happy birthday to Shakespeare and all who know him!!!
