Okay, took me a while but I've just discovered Facebook over the weekend, after a recomendation of a friend. I'm liking it and its much more user friendly than myspace.

If nothing else its not full of bad graphics and emo bands.

Anyone else a member?

Dean

Apparently for the snobs amoungst us Facebook is for the middle class, and MySpace the working classes. Or at least that's how the Guardian On-Line section see it.

It is much nicer to use then MySpace and not full of tweenagers and bands trying to get more publicity! At least not yet.

Yes I'm on facebook, joined out of curiosity to see who 'Amy' from Chicago was (as she kept sending me invites...turns out it was an old friend of a friend).

Its quite entertaining and it's funny the old friends that pop up from nowhere.

There was a topic on this at the beginning of the year and there is a v-flyer group as well which this thread has just reminded me to join.

After being bugged by an old school friend to become her 'friend' on facebook, I also joined last week. Suffice to say that absolutely nothing got done around here the whole of last week! Addictive? I'd say so;)

Am I the only person here that is in their twenties and ISNT on one of these sites?

Thanks,
Sarah

No you're not ;) some of us do have lives don't we, and V-Flyer takes up some of the spare time ...that said, I'm checking out Facebook, I can't stand the mess that is MySpace!

Well I have just turned 30 and I am not on it??? Does that count?? [:?]

V-Flyer takes up a lot of my time and I do not need any more distraction!

OK. This is probably what comes of being 36. Facebook? I don't get it. I'd much rather meet my friends down the pub...

Have to admit I'm not really drawn in either. After you've poked your friends a few times and written walls - er, then what???

My point exactly. And this whole 'poking' thing seems rather sinister to me. "You've just been poked by Bob!". Well, next time I see Bob I'll poke him right back, the perv.

Actually, I signed up yesterday to see what it was all about. This morning I have two e-mails from old chums asking if they can be my friend. What next? Are they going to ask me if I'd like to come out to play...?

I work in higher education and the the only way we can communicate with our students is through facebook, I think its fairly addictive (that or I am bored as its our summer term!) Look on it as a better version of friends reunited.

Does anybody have a link to the v-flyer group?

Lesley
