How would we be able to tell if a tornado had hit Hull?
Sunny, but breezy in Leeds at present, with a 40% chance of rain this afternoon.

Oi what's with the Hull bashing. 2 separate threads in the last week have now dissed this great city, Neil is not a happy bunny [:(!]

Neil, Hull was voted 'worst place to live in the UK' AND you have John Prescott for your MP

Need I say more?
Its very windy down here in West Oxfordshire right now.
Thanks,
Sarah

Sarah, I think you will find that was 2 years ago, IIRC Luton beat us to the title last year and the fat lump is retiring at the next election [^]
Also, you should never judge a book by its cover, all you people who are slagging us off, how many of you have actually visited Hull? You might be pleasantly surprised (ok you might not be, but you MIGHT be[:I])

Was really bad here a first thing, near tropical rainfall and gusting badly but now you would think you were on a different continent, hardly any breeze and beautiful sunshine. I had to put the lights on when I arrived at 08.15 but was able to turn them off about 10.30.

Sorry. Couldn't help myself. Actually, we were in Hull last week - took mdvipond jr. to The Deep. Rather a good day out.
Obviously, we kept the car doors firmly locked until we got out of the city - it was like driving through a scene from 'Escape From New York'.

I visited Hull once for my friend's graduation. So let's see that'd be about '85. Has it changed much?

No, obviously its EXACTLY the same as it was in 1985 [ii]. We haven't moved on one bit, technology here is a good 20years behind the rest of the UK, we all still dress in shell suits, the women have HUGE perms, and of course we love getting down to Spandau Ballet at the local disco on a Friday night[ii]

I almost went down that (yellow brick)road myself but thought it was too obvious, which it clearly is so I'm glad I resisted, I would hate to be called obvious and predictable[:p]
