Since today seems to be a day for non tech idiots (me Barry not you).

I want to buy a slingbox, so far so good £99 in Currys, but the super duper virgin moden that I have(speedtouch) connects to my laptop via a USB port. The Slingbox needs an ethernet port plug. Is there a connection/plug that would allow me to plug the USB to an ethernet plug so I can connect to the slingbox?

Any help appreciated.

Iain

Hi Iain,

Haven't got one myself but if you Google "usb to Ethernet adapter" you will get lots of hits.

If you're having to look at the expense of a USB to ethernet adapter, you'd probably be better of spending a bit more, ditching your virgin modem and getting a combined wifi (and wired) router/modem.
since if you still want to connect a PC as well as the slingbox to the modem you'll need some kind of ethernet hub as well.

More importantly - give me a full review of the sling box when you are using it from afar, I'm seriously considering getting my parents one, next time I'm back in blighty [}:)]
