V-Flyer

So I go to this Thai place (Best of Thai, Fairfax, VA, USA) about 5 times a week. EVERY time I go I get the same thing; Chicken Pad Thai super spicy and a small salad with the peanut dressing. I do not want a menu. I know the other options. I do not care for them. Now I sorta get PO'ed when I get handed a menu. Best of Thai is not a five star place but is not that shabby either.

So, is it rude or good manners to hand someone a menu who has eaten at your restaurant 189 times this year AND always ordered the samething? (My accounting software shows 189 transactions as on 10/23/2007 at Best of Thai since 01/01/07)

If you have demurred more than once then yes.

You do realise, the ONE day you want a menu, they won't give you one? [:w]

OOh good point 'Tis rude. Once you have established a preference that should be respected. If he wants a menu Paul he can ask for it . The sign of a good bar used to be that the barman would see you coming in and have your regular pint ready for you.

I concur Mr. Decker. When I walk into Starbucks they automatically get my Grande in a Venti cup drip coffee ready. Hell when I run into some of the folks who work at Starbucks at the gym they say "Hey, you are a grand in a venti cup drip; right?"

Better and easier service equals a larger tip....

I have just returned from a trip to Majorca where I used to frequent regularly and I used the same restaurants I always have and the staff remember me to the point where we discuss old times. However I still like to see the menu. What if something changed since yesterday? Even if I know for sure what I want.

Every time you walk into a Golden Arches you are presented with a menu (Even if it is on the wall) and this must be the most well known menu in the world. It amazes me that people in the drive through sit and stare at the menu making their mind up!

I eat in McDs about twice a year. I need to check the drive through menu
