I've never made a New Year's resolution, why wait to do a good deed or learn something new? If i did have one it would probably be to try and spend less money, not more, on travel each year ... but what can you do? [:)]

Thanks,
Sarah

Know what you mean Sarah. But until those J tickets dropt to £9.99 inc taxes I'll just have to live with the cost.

I suppose that will be my resolution for this year too! That way I can't break it and another advantage is that you're not bonded to a resolution that can't be made whether it's down to laziness or circumstances preventing you from meeting the resolution (i.e. wanting to buy a new car but realising later on that you don't have the money to do that, even through there may be a really attractive finance plan on offer).

Having said that I made three resolutions last year and met two of them but to be fair they weren't exactly the hardest of resolutions to meet! [:w]

My resolution this year is almost the opposite to any other, I have decided to have a 'ME' year.

The last 5 or so years I have been pretty free and easy with my generosity for family and friends and for the most part I have been slapped in the face for it, its not right to expect thanks but I am shocked this year at the resentment and jelousy one can receive from people that walk away with your gift at the same time.

Example took my little nephew to Florida, UCS cost £9K, Christmas card from parents...nope, small gift...nope.....happy new year...nope......birthday card for partner who paid half nope.

I tell my Dad how cruddy it is that my own brother doesn't say thanks even for taking his son on holiday and he says 'well it was your choice to spend the money!'

Took parents and nephew to Florida in PE the year before, Christmas gift nope.......

My boss got me a fabulopus TV for Crimbo though[oo]

Sad isn't it. Not any more.

EGG - that is a cracking one [y] and is something I believe is very important. I hope you have a great 'ME' year, because, without wanting to sound too morbid, you never know what is round the corner (something I guess you know all too well in your profession).

Selfish? Me? Most probably[8D]

There you go then, take your boss on holiday!

Seriously though I know exactly what you mean when it comes to spending money on family and not even getting stuff back in return.

Well I re-confirmed something I actually resolved in October - yep the old no-smokie resolution. Still there 14 weeks later. And now I have told you all I would be too embarrassed to re-start! I am now slowly changing the resolution to stop chewing foul tasting gum.

Anyway, I have not found it has given me a bad temper, and I will knock the lights out on any one who says it has!
