Hi

Had such bad experience with Vodafone customer service that
i am sticking to my promise to them that i will cx my contract early if a manager didnt ring me back. (After the 4th call)

Have cancelled my direct debit.

Has anybody has any experiences with cancelling a phone contract early?

Thanks

Dan

As a rule if you cx early they charge you the balance (speaking as a company) - unsure as to how Consumers get on

Thanks for the replies so far. Basically i upgraded my price plan
with a good deal as i was going to leave them to join another company.
Part of the deal was a new phone. First time round then took the phone to the wrong address so was rejected. 2nd time they brought it to my address and said someone with the name of Daniel ... rejected the package! Third time round they forgot to load it on the van to bring it to me and the 4th time they said they had delivered when they havent.

Have phoned them at least 10 times and some have been long calls. I checked and the calls are recorded so i said if a manager doesent call me back i will cancell my direct debit and cease dealings with the company. I have said theat numerous times and no one has called me yet. Being a man of my word, i have now cx the direct debit and am joining another provider. Just wanted to see how i can get around the last 2 months of the contract with paying if they make a fuss.

Thanks for the help. [:D]

I cancelled an O2 contract a couple of years ago, basically they weren't sending me bills and tried to charge me twice for a new phone. To cut a long story short, they charged me for the remaining 6 months of my contract. Despite writing to the chairman (and getting reassuring replies they sold my debt to a collection agency! I ended up having to pay, if only to placate my landlord.

3, on the other hand, let me out of my contract 9 months early without penalty, but that probably had more to do with the fact I got no reliable reception at home, in the office, down the pub...

I think, technically, you are obliged to pay the remainder of the contract.

Youve not mentioned whether or not you were doing the upgrade within or out your original contract, assuming you were out of contract, it sounds to me as though the new contract has not been fulfilled by Voda, as long as you have it all documented I would say you are on firm ground ..... However what I would advise is doing everything from now on in writing. They can be very quick to sell off 'debts' to collection agencies, who in turn can be quick to whip up a court appearence ..... so make sure you have all the documents to hand.

Cheers

I'm in the middle of a battle with Vodaphone, i'm on a family/business contract 750mins for standard £110 p/month. But, recently the call charges have gone up so its almost nearly hitting £200!!! p/month. I've only got a month left and they will still charge me the cancelation fee's. My advice to anyone, just do not go with Vodaphone since you will end up with a hole in your pocket and a burn on your leg!

On another Vodaphone note. I have a Vodaphone phone but have changed to Virgin Media.

Unfortunately the Vodaphone software in my phone won't allow me to add a new server in order to get my picture messaging, apparently they mess about with the original software to suit their own criteria.

Have e-mailed Vodaphone asking how to get around the problem but as yet have not had an answer, wonder if they will bother to tell me how to do it[:?]

I cancel my vodafone contract every year.
Then reluctantly agree to continue it when they offer me a further 12 months with a 50% discount.
