I have just unpacked and built our new patio table complete with parasol. The product information leaflet in the parasol box said 'do not expose to direct sunlight'[?]. With this in mind, we have decided to only put up the sun parasol at night [|:)].
I have double checked and there is no leaflet with the chairs saying 'do not sit on these items' so at least we are ok there.

I think they mean within 5 miles of the actual sun, Paul...
Or it's an English umbrella, and they know you will really just sit out in the gloom and rain, anyway.

Rather strange that, as the whole objective of buying a parasol is to shade from the sun! By saying 'do not expose to direct sunlight' it defeats this object altogether, and since when would you want to use a parasol at night anyway?
Bizarre!!
