In depth analysis of the real factors behind Obama's historic victory can be found here. What on earth were Newsnight thinking?

It's strange he'd be interviewed (almost stereotypical in an uneasy way -- 'Umm, let's see, blacks, right, we need a black. Let's get that baroness and a rapper...'). That said, he's no political science genius, but he gave his honest opinions, has an optimistic attitude and he has a lovely smile. And he has a sense of humour.

But the entire conceit is hilarious -- I can just see a couple years from now: 'Mr. Dizzy Rascal, what kind of king do you think Charles will make and what will be Elizabeth the Second's chief legacy?'

Whatevz.

It was Paxman and his 'Mr Rascal' that did it for me...

There was a story on this in the Guardian yesterday (link) which rips in to Paxman and the BBC for their patronising approach to 'Mr Rascal'. Asking someone who was born and and has spent his life in this country whether he feels British does seem rather crass. Others will think it smacks of racism.

In any event, while it's not on a par with putting Russell Brand, Jonathan Ross and a telephone in the same room, it still wasn't good. I'd lay the controversy more at the BBC's door than Dizzee Rascal's, though.

Best wishes

That's a coincidence - I was in the same pub recently when William Shakespeare walked in and demanded a drink. The barman refused to serve him - said he was bard.

Oh, is that taxi for me? I'll get my coat...

Best wishes
