There was a story on this in the Guardian yesterday
(link) which rips in to Paxman and the BBC for their patronising approach to 'Mr Rascal'. Asking someone who was born and and has spent his life in this country whether he feels British does seem rather crass. Others will think it smacks of racism.
In any event, while it's not on a par with putting Russell Brand, Jonathan Ross and a telephone in the same room, it still wasn't good. I'd lay the controversy more at the BBC's door than Dizzee Rascal's, though.
