So some might call me crazy... And those that don't might be as loony as I am.

Tomorrow I fly to London via a stopover for ~7 hours in Dublin to have a beer at the Guinness factory and a haircut. (Plus the flight on the ArvoJet DUB to LCY will be cool).

Anything neato to do in Dublin that is off the beaten path but still near-ish to City Center?

Well after you have had your Guinness at the Guinness Storehouse why don't you go over to the Jameson Distillery in Smithfield?

If I had had more notice I might have been able to contact a niece who works in Guinness for an additional behind the scenes tour, although she is notoriously difficult to get in touch with [:?]

Ben, we all know you too well now. A whole 7 hours .... [:)]

I can't think of anything to add in regards to Dublin, other than lots of drinking. You could go and see Dublin Castle and then while away your time in Temple Bar(f). I have some fond memories of drinking in Kehoe's.

Thanks,
Sarah

Well Timmie is there. From PCP 2009 Paris fame... He and his mother plus my shinning self as going to this 'All the tour guides say it is fab' breakfast place then I drink at Guinness. I recall this place across from the Temple Bar, Eliza Lodge that had the BEST haircut ever. So might do that. Then shopping?

7 hours is too long.... might have to change my flight... :)

Have been to a bar called Sinnotts on Grafton Street for many a drink first thing in the morning after taking one of the first flights out of LHR!
