We were just discussing this in the office actually, and our conclusion was that as the autopilot does most of the work nowadays, and as a Captain you could just tell the co-pilot to do all the other stuff, it would be a fairly easy thing to blag, might give it a go myself this weekend at HUY [8D]

In addition to the aforementioned looking out the window class there are numerous classes including the following
Sounding reassuring yet authoritive when making announcements
Looking dashing and debonair in out smart uniforms (extra module in wearing our caps at a jaunty angle)
There are also classes on what all the buttons and leavers do but to be honest we don't pay much attention to those as there are just so many of them !

Posted: 05 Mar 2010, 18:40The poor bear, they don't even bother to teach how to spell 'levers'. That is probably superceded by the how to miss your airport while sleeping/playing on laptop course. [:)]
Posted: 05 Mar 2010, 19:14What I don't really get about this story is that yes yes he had a fake license and what not, but he worked for jet2 (according to what I read in the sun; please don't judge!) now as far as I'm aware to get to that sort of level the airline puts you through hours of simulator training?!
