Just looking to start one up for our company.

I use it, but mainly just to follow others, I don't 'tweet' myself really, but do find it interesting/funny to follow others, some of the 'celebs' are very funny, Jason Manford is my personal favourite.

If you do use Twitter, there's an application you can add to your profile here to display your recent 'tweets' on your V-Flyer profile page.
Not that I'm a big Twitter use myself though...

The drop rate on Twitter is huge, something like 30% turnover per month.
While on paper it sounds like a good idea, I grew bored of it in something like...2 days.

I use it now and then. It seems to generate speedier customer service responses from certain companies than any other communication method known to man or beast.

I still dont get Twitter but appreciate that others do.
It did make me laugh to see the 'Follow us on Twitter' on the British Airways website

Signed up to it to receive news but I don't really get it. I've only just got in to Facebook.

I still have a fundamental problem with Twitter - what is it for? I know all the stuff about spreading news, connecting with friends etc. But I can't see what it adds to more direct, higher quality information channels.
But then, I don't text either except in rare circumstances.

It took me a long time to "get" Twitter, and even now it seems to be a medium where you consent to being advertised at, or where C-lebs show how dull they actually are. But if you have enough friends on it it's cheaper than texting - especially picture messages - and quite good for sharing stuff quickly.
I left Facebook with the intention of contacting people by phone or email instead and it didn't quite work out. Facebook is more of a glue than emails are and I suspect Twitter, which is essentially the Facebook "updates" only, is the same.

I'm with DarkAuror - I get confused with FB so haven't a hope with Twitter.

I am with Neil on this one. Whilst I don't really tweet myself I do use it to keep up to date with the musing of various celebrities. Being a rather large F1 fan, I find that Jake Humphrey's tweets are fantastic. In fact F1 is where I have gotten the most use out of Twitter, this morning I could check out the times in free practice much quicker than having to go online and look them up.

Agree Will, Twitter is excellent for F1, the autosport Twitter is very good.

I'll make a prediction - someone will buy Twitter for a silly amount of money, in three years it'll be the next MySpace.

I don't know. The thing Twitter has, is 'celebs', people are interested in them, what they are doing, what they are saying, and whilst there is still some fairly interesting ones using it, I can't see it going anywhere soon.

I think I've been around longer than you - everything you said was said about MySpace. Then Rupert Murdoch bought it for silly money, Now it's usurped by Facebook.
In media, the half life of trends is getting shorter.
Will you wage me 50p for a bet to mature in three years?

I would tend to agree with you slightly Slinky, the life of these kinds of sites are very short. Facebook is a great example, I joined up way back in early 2004. Originally the site was for university students at select universities and part of its initial popularity was the fact that it was an exclusive club, since the site has opened its doors alot of the original members feel that the site has lost all of its appeal and therefore are leaving. I have lost count of the number of friends I have that just do not bother with it anymore, just shows that even the "most successful" sites are not all they are cracked up to be.

I don't tweet but i do follow. \
Mainly Eamonn Mailie for NI politics, EOTK for the latest news of my beloved Liverpool's decline and Tyler Place for news of the holiday resort we are going to in Vermont later this year.
It is a useful tool for early news but to be honest does not enrich my life greatly.
Obviously it is only as good or as useful as the contributors make it and I don't really care what Richard Bacon had for lunch.

I look at Twitter every few days as I follow quite a few different people however never "tweet" myself.
