If you were able to fly fast enough in the opposite direction to the spinning Earth, would you go back in time?

No, someone got me thinking, they were planning to go to Oz for New Year, then high-tailing it on a plane to South America for a second New year.
So, what would happen if you could travel round the world in less than 24 hours, and kept doing so!

Well depending on what way you went you wold either gain or loose a day when you cross the international date line.
You dont need a lycra suit for that to happen though !

Yes, but if you lost a day, and you kept travelling, and say it took 12 hours to get back round again, you'd then lose another half day and so on!

No, you'd end up back where you started! Timewise.

This is why I would like to see a 'post preview' feature on here. That is when you hover your mouse over a topic and it shows the first few lines of the first post so you don't have to waste your time going into stupid topics.

While not a serious topic, no reason why it cannot continue.
I'll just move it to a more suitable location - Behind the Curtain in The Galley.

What's wrong with stupid topics? Long live stupid topics.

Nothing, I think you misunderstood my point.
Whilst I'm not interested in entering a 'stupid' topic I appreciate some people are. What I am saying is if the 'post preview' facility I mentioned was available then I could see if it was a stupid topic without having to enter it to find out
I did mention it a while ago in the new thread about issues (or whatever it was) when the forum was transferred but it was ignored
