Just watched it myself - Why Virgin actually flies there is beyond my comprehension.

Will have the inescapable mental image of the chap with the bloodied shirt when I get a call from Lagos now.

Nevertheless, very interesting.

One word: money. I would love to know how much is made in excess baggage on each flight alone! :D

The best line from the whole show was "there is no corruption in Lagos!" :w

Indeed, I have an ex who was senior in the ground team at AA in London, he used to tell me the most crazy stories watching check in for flights to Nigeria, and the volume of cash that was handed over for excess baggage, washing machines, you name it!

My favourite was a story about how after boarding the flight, four passengers couldn't find their seats, to discover the captain had removed them and put a three-piece suite there instead to take home to his wife!

Mind you, I do pit the VS crews that have to stay there!

Mrs NH has been out there, teaching at a city 2 hrs inland. Described being driven there as the most frightening experience of her life...

Yes, I agree - the 651 and 652 are always busy whenever pax ring to book.

I think the excess baggage for a standard 651 could fill a 744 all by itself.

The level of corruption shown in the program only supports the policy of airport only tickets for 3rd party LOS bookings.
