Should a sausage sandwich have butter?

And good morning from the clubhouse, sat in the gallery, with champagne mojito, Heat, and iPad (see HL

).
Minor fun outside as someone left a bag on the kerb so lots of police and sniffer dogs. I see that SQ has moved check in to the E zone so VS has all the area back (is that a sig of something to come?). The Iris registration office appears to be gone for good, no idea where, and TGI's has disappeared with a new restaurant called 'Rhubarb' being installed.
Now, back to my question, should a sausage sandwich have butter, I would, but mine in front of me does not

.

No sauce = butter on sandwich
Brown (HP*) sauce on sandwich (and it has to be brown) = no butter.
*other brands are available
But the other question is - toasted or not toasted?

Deffo needs butter. If you get the hot sausage in a bun from Sainsbury's it is dry beyond belief.

Yes, all sandwiches/buns should be buttered. Too dry otherwise.

Both as long as it's with a side order of cherry tomatoes in gravy
And good morning from the clubhouse, sat in the gallery, with champagne mojito, Heat, and iPad (see HL
).
What's this? A war of attrition?

Point taken

Butter for me - but not too much - just enough to moisten the bread as the heat from the sausage / bacon melts it.
But that's simply because brown and tomato sauce make me

Personally, i'd prefer Brown sauce, no butter. However, if it's toasted, butter is fine.

Yes to butter, but only a thin spread otherwise it melts and runs out.
HP sauce all the way.

Well maybe I'm a snob (or just a freak..) but I believe a perfect sausage sandwich contains a little melted butter and a good dollop of tomato ketchup

No! The sausage should be greasy enough without it.

That's no reason not to have butter on it. Cholesterol rules, OK

I agree the quality of the sausage and bread determines if butter is essential, but definately ketchup

never brown
