When I was in Boston I stayed in what is now the Back Bay Hotel but was then Jury's Hotel. It is still part of the Doyle Collection who own what used to be the Jury's hotels. It was a former police department and is well placed to all the local amenities. I would highly recommend it

Boston - my vote goes to The Lennox. next to the public library, subway station and the prudential centre. Has free wifi and in- room fridge too.

The Tides in Miami is a great hotel, friendly staff, nice building and wonderful views, good location, it has lots going for it. Good rooms, independent hotel feel, i.e. no chain feel...

Agree 100% with HL - a great hotel and very well located.

A slightly more 'budget conscious' option for Boston is the Doubletree Boston Downtown. We stayed there recently and found it very reasonable for a few nights break.

Another vote for Back Bay - stayed when it was Jurys a few years ago. In-laws stayed at the Lennox last month; they said is was great; certainly pics looked good!

Back Bay for me too - great place. Incidentally, Nottingham Nick is a Boston aficianado, I'm sure he has some recommendations.

Another vote for the Lennox in BOS. Lovely staff too, old world manners.
And in MIA like Hamster, I am a huge fan of the Tides. Great large rooms, via "ocean drive" - but not the cheapest.

My favourite in Boston is 15 The Common. They style themselves as XV.
This caused great confusion at Boston Immigration, as the officer said to me 'couldn't you find a nice hotel where they speak English instead?'

Another vote for this one too, we stayed when it was a Jury's and it was lovely.

Will be staying in Nine Zero in June and July if June goes well.
Will post my opinion in a Trip Report after the event. Good prices on VS site for Boston, although nearly all are through Octopus.

Price range ?
If we head to Miami we normally stay in Ft Lauderdale, a place called The Pillars, great little hotel.
