Gosh

I know it is just a number but 1000 posts so, at the time of posting, I shall put the 1000th here.

And apparently that is 0.49 posts a day since joining in 2008. Since 2008 I must be at near 100 flights, some in J, lots in Y and one glorious 14 hours in EK FIRST, and, even better, I got that with miles!!

Ooh, and I have done 16 trip reports but only 7 on VS.

Since joining the site I have found most contributors helpful and informative re all manner of things aviation. There has been a great deal of fun too and long may it continue. There has been the occasional dickhead but the mods have dealt with them speedily and efficiently as well as a continuing shed load of spam, apparently.

I have also had the immense good fortune to meet several eminent contributors and more fun has been had. VF virtual world friendships have morphed into REAL friendships. And lots of Facebook ones too, which are sort of real!!

Thanks,
David.

PS and for those who dont know, HWV stands for Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla, an all round gundog of which I have two.

Congratulations on the choice of dog and post count.

Marshy11.

P.S. I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback, my second. I should have taken note after the first. :0

Congratulations HWV and welcome to the club.

I really think there should be some sort of 'frequent poster' scheme - free drinks at V-Flyer socials perhaps? Shandy for 1000 posts up to G&Ts made with T10 when you hit 10000. Any other suggestions? After all, loyalty should be rewarded, right... Otherwise I may have to switch my allegiance to FT forthwith :-)

Time was when those reaching the magic 1000 were awarded a pink anorak - a virtual one, mind you. :o) Then the "milestone" posts seemed to peter out and it's been a long time since I have seen one until recently.

Anyway, congrats on the 100th post, Mr Doggie Lover (and for those who didn't know what HWV stood for, that's why I occasionally called him Mr Doggie Lover) and keep on posting! :X

If I remember correctly. in the olden days one's status (frequent flyer, never off a plane) in the forum depended on the number of posts.

Congratulations on your 1000 post HWVLover, and please keep us furnished with tales of service on other airlines as you continue your programme of adventures on the other side of the world.

Congrats on the 1000 posts David, here's to the next 1000 8D

pjh wrote:If I remember correctly. in the olden days one's status (frequent flyer, never off a plane) in the forum depended on the number of posts.

It still does, but once you get to a certain stage it plateaus and there are no status levels left to progress on to. With BA-Flyer we moved the levels to require more posts per level thanks to the lessons learned from V-Flyer, I don't think Pete expected people to be reaching the lofty heights he once programmed in so quickly (or that the site would prevail and flourish as it has over the past decade)

Perhaps this is something that Pete will update as he is tinkering with the site at the moment and introduce some fun new status waypoints. y)

As ever H'Dub, remember well the numerous fun, heady afternoons in the Bar & Entrail Shack and the Ye olde original V-Flyer site format.
Congrats on the post milestone..

Ah yes, the good old Bar and Entrail Shack. It re-opened on FB but never really took off there, did it?
