I booked BOM-LHR-LAS-LHR-BOM for June. VS changed the schedule so it now does not connect in LHR.

Based on this and some other factors I do not need the BOM part and just want LHR-LAS return. Are they going to re-ticket it and make me pay the difference. Currently the difference is over 1K GBP.

If I do not show up for the BOM-LHR part will that void the rest of the ticket?

Any views welcome.

Yes, definitely if its all on one ticket. Unless you can change it, if you don't do the first leg, VS will cancel the whole ticket.

Is it all on one ticket? If it is,you have much better options. It is up to VS to sort out the disconnect and you may have options.

If separate tickets then you have an expensive choice...

Even if it's all on one ticket, don't start making any changes yourself until VS first re-route you as otherwise you will be liable for any differences in fares if you start making any changes yourself now.

Wait until VS come up with an alternative / re-route before you do anything. If nothing happens automatically after a few days ring VS but first ask them to come up with an alternative before you mention making any changes.

I'll be surprised if they will allow you to drop the BOM>LHR legs of the flight though unless they really can't come up with any other alternatives. They may be able to re-route you through LAX or SFO to get to LAS for example.

Also if the arrival time at your final destination changes by more than 3 hours you are entitled to a full refund as well.

I agree with James, don't do a thing until VS look at some options.

I'd expect them to re-route you through LAX/SFO/SEA.

Depending on how much the original ticket cost, they may allow you to do what you want, but only if theres a benefit to them.

As a backup plan, be ready to take a refund and find alternative options yourself.
