There was a piece in the USA Today about a class action being filed in California, the lead attorney is saying that VS/BA will probably end up paying $15 - $25 per trip made in the form of travel vouchers [:?]

I did laugh at one of the comments made on the BBC. "I'd rather fly with BA than those sneaks at Virgin!"

A fool and his money.......

Hmm. What time period does the class action cover? On my flights alone, £165/month for xxx years could be quite a lot of money... [:0]

However, I'm not sure I'd actually persue it. (It's a bit like the bank charges one, where people are now b*tching about the terms in a contract THEY agreed to years ago).

EVERYONE knew the price they were paying when they contracted into being provided the service of a flight; if they didn't like it, their CHOICE was not to travel (or travel with another carrier). I'm not entirely sure where I sit in terms of the fence on this one, but I have to say I'm swaying towards the airlines's side...

If the airlines do pay anything back (and that's a big if), as Scrooge mentioned, it's probably going to be vouchers off future travel anyway.

I personally dont expect anything back either.

Why is the BA fuel surcharge more than VS? Shouldn't BA get a better price due to their increased spend and buying power and be able to pass this onto customers?

Good article in the Economist this week about VS/BA on this issue.
