Have read that BA are launching a buy one get one free Club offer tomorrow. New York for 1666 for 2 and Miami 1959. The offer lasts until 5th May and is for travel from June to Oct. I believe that other destinations are included. It will be interesting to see how Virgin react.

I received an EMail this morning from Exec Club outlining that there will be a special one off Club World sale tomorrow offering 2 for 1 on selected routes and at the Apex (Z ?) fare (no particular route mentioned) from 0001hrs on 1 May for 4 days.
If I get an EMail before the official launch with more detials I will post what I am able.
Sounds too good to be true !?

Hackneyguy

This is going to get interesting for sure, to see if VS responds.
I'm tempted to book a weekend to NY at that price point. [:)]
Though if any routes to Asia on offer, I can see me being over-ruled.

Having said that it is '2 for 1', the price for a return to NY in October works out at around 1850 total, which isn't much cheaper than VS's current sale fares which work out at 2100.....and you don't have to travel with someone else (the bigger question is Galleries -vs- Clubhouse!)
I just tried it for 2 people and got a fare of 1,885
Then I did it with just one pax and got a fare of 937
Both were for the same dates in early October so us singletons can get a 'cheap' fare but with VS UC for 1040 I'd rather fly VS !
I used the 'offer' link for the two seats and the 'normal' booking page for the single seat!

Huzzah for International Jet-setting !
I'll do a proper TR soon but I got upgraded on my flight from LHR to JFK with BA yesterday into Club World and was veyr impressed indeed. Well worth it for that price for sure.
Am I missing something here, I get this message when selecting:
'You will first see a discounted fare for one passenger. After selecting flights, you will then see the total discounted fare for all passengers travelling. Two tickets are available for the price of every one standard full price fare.'
So this makes it only applicable on effectively standard, non-sales fares and therefore not much different to VS current offers?

There's a plane at JFK, to fly you back from far away
all those dark and frantic transatlantic miles

Well I for one am very tempted. Richard has heard nothing but destination maes from me in the past 24 hours. Looking at 1400 for BKK and 1800 for SYD each, I think they are pretty amazing prices. Asia and Oz are usually much much higher.
Best deal I found was to TLV. 506 return in Club, and you get the full 120 tier points each way. Now I need to find someone to go to TLV with [:D]. Flights are on the 777 but thats an amazing price for the tier points.
Thanks,
Sarah

To be fair, most sales promotions work off the basis of shifting extra stock by reducing the price (BOGOF, 3 for 2, etc). If BA were to reduce their prices in a usual sale they likely would not shift the same number of seats. By selling 2 or 4 or 6 they are going to have a greater chance of filling up the cabins - and not targeting the solo business traveller who would still have to shell out for a normal fare. It might seem anti-singleton but it is business sense.
Still - if you fancy a jolly to TLV we may be able to get a small party going [:)]

JP haven't you just come back from Oz? [:D]
If you need convincing - do it!! The Oz offer is very good for J. And we want more trip reports!
No upgrading to F (officially) and no stop over permitted, but still a good price. If you can bag row 62 then its a done deal.
Thanks,
Sarah
