Here's the TR for our return from Thailand. Hope you enjoy!

The time had finally arrived for us to leave our tranquil part of ko phi phi don, board the long tail boat to transfer us to the phi phi ferry.
After 4 hours on the ferry, thanks to the captain taking the "scenic" route around ko phi phi leh slowing down to point out ALL the sights, we finally arrived at Phuket pier.
We hadn't booked a taxi to the airport so ended up sharing a minibus with strangers, at £4 I didn't complain!
The drive to the airport was a bit more relaxing than the drive from the airport at least!
7 days ago we arrived in Phuket only to be driven to the pier by a relative of Michael Schumacher, he drove through red lights, on the hard shoulder and all at speeds that made my bum twitch like a rabbits nose! He did get us to the pier in 30 mins though!
Anyway back to the TR. Phuket international isn't that bad I was expecting a shed with a runway.
We were flying with air Berlin on a ethiad code share. The queue for bag drop was large once our bags were gone and boarding cards in hand I noticed we bagged SEQ 1 and 2!

The departure lounge was nothing special, very busy with a few places to eat and shop. I had a very relaxing foot massage as simon ate his sandwich.
Even before they started boarding the queue was massive for our gate so we wandered around some more.
When boarding was called we made our way back to be greeted by an even bigger queue. As the queue started by duty free we had a look around...litre bottles of absolut citron, grey goose, Finlandia and Bombay caught our eyes and lightened my wallet. Happy with our purchases we joined the rest of the heard in the queue.

We were greeted onboard by the CC (dressed in black with red belts) in German and directed to our seats. The cabin layout was 2-3-2 and we had one of the 2, the seats were great!
The plane was very clean and looked quite new and they had touch screen tv's.
The IFE was gate to gate so I started watching we are the Millers straight away.

Once in the air the crew came round with their first drink run, I gotta give it to the Germans it was like synchronised drinks service. No sooner had the drink run started it was over, all very efficient and I had a German beer in hand!

Dinner service followed and again I was very impressed by how quick these guys were! They might have been fast but they were still focused on all the pax.
We had 2 choices for our main huhn oder nudeln (chicken or pasta), I opted for das huhn and simon die nudeln ;)
To start we had a feta salad.
Main was chicken with potatoes, veg and gravy and after almost 2 weeks of Thai food I devoured it!
Dessert was a schokoladenmousse, very nice also.
We both had wine with our meals, our first glass in almost 2 weeks!

After our very nice meal we went back to our movies, I finished watching the millers then watched behind the candelabra and some episodes of the Big Bang theory.

Throughout the flight regular drink runs were made.

We arrived in Abu Dhabi on time and feeling very good considering it was 3am bkk time.

Overall I enjoyed this flight, service was great, food was good and we always had a drink if we wanted one. Very impressed with Air Berlin.

Sehr gut! y)

vielen danke für dein Reisebericht!

Sounds like a good flight and like you had a good trip too. Did you stay on in Abu Dabi?

Cheers

Sie sind willkommen

We did have a nice time on phi phi, very relaxing! Bangkok was crazy fun...to much fun!

We only had a 2.5h stop in Abu Dhabi, if we ever do a split flight in future we will try and stay for a few days. But we've decided direct flights are our preference from now on!

I've never been to Thailand, it's one of my destinations but not sure about 'im indoors! I have a friend who works out there from time to time in one of the spa resorts, which sounds lovely too.

Direct flights, I agree!

I loved it over there, the internal travel isn't the most relaxing and that was the only downside for me. Simon was indifferent, he enjoyed it but wouldn't go back soon. It's very different over there and simon loves the states. In your face commercialism and he's all over it like a moth to the flame. Small restaurants where you can dine and drink for £15 for 2 people on the beach under the stars...no interest!
