The on-board mobile phone system is AeroMobile, not to be confused with the separate WiFi system.

AeroMobile is on all the B744's (expect G-VBIG I think) and all the A333's. It's not on the A346's or the B789's.

I believe WiFi is still rolling out across the entire fleet. Last time I flew on an A346, that had WiFi but it wasn't switched on. The crew said the same thing that VS where waiting until it was rolled out across all aircraft.

It was mentioned on here that WiFi was also waiting for CAA approval on some of the aircraft, but that was ages ago now so don't know if that's still the case?

I believe it's still rolling out.

I *think* the A333's that don't already have WiFI are getting it installed as the same time as the Upper Class cabin is being refitted.

Good morning from the VS3, today operated by G-WAG. Fantastic news to report that GOGOINFLIGHT has been activated and according to crew is rolling out across the fleet.

£14.99 for a pass or free with some Amex Cards, I got it free. You need to pre-register for the logo/amex offer. I ran speedtest on iPhone and got good speeds. Download 23, Upload 16. It appears to be using AT&T. A second test I ran, the download speed hit 85! This is an incredible breakthrough for transatlantic wifi. I could stream CNN, watch Youtube, basically no limits although it did say at the landing page that Netflix was disabled.

I believe GOGO had already been installed before the 333’s started their refits. The delay has been getting it approved for use.

Also Aeromobile is still in use on G-VWAG, as to whether they’ll deactivate it when she goes for her refit remains to be seen.

Afraid not. It same same cost regardless of the cabin you are sat in.

That's a shame, it seems like the marketing value of saying "free wifi for UC customers" would outweigh the potential ~15 customers per flight * £15 revenue!

Does anyone know if I want to use both my iphone and laptop can you use your iphone as a personal hotspot to connect the laptop to or do I need to pay twice?

I've only used the system on the B789's (which is apparently slightly different to the system used on the A333's, the A346's & the B744's). On the B789's you only need to register once to use more than one device.

During the initial T-Mobile hotspot set-up/payment process, the system asks you to create a username (which I think is your email) and a password. You can then just log in using those details on other devices to access the system.

I don't know if that is the same on the other aircraft though sorry, which I believe are using the GoGo system? I would hope it is!

I used both systems on my way out to JFK and back

Out on the A333 - GREAT signal and great price

Back on the 789 - 14.99 daylight robbery for 150mb and generally much slower than the A333.
