I have the opportunity to book BA 787 first to PVG for a very small price difference to that of UC with VS.
Anyone got any recommendations on BA and if the switch would be worth it?

Also have fully flex tickets with VS, how easy is it to get a refund and timeline to normally have this processed.
Thanks :D

Been with BA first twice in last 12 months and is in my opinion above UC, Concorde lounge was nice and quiet, very attentive staff and a kitchen willing to cook to your needs (including my wife with intolerances)

Both times i was on a 787 and such a small cabin meant you were attended to fully through the flight, saying that I still like the quirkiness of VS although it's defiantly not what it used to be!

Honest opinion... please don't shout at me :-D

No question BA for me. I made the switch 10 months ago due to relocating to Dubai which back then Virgin didn’t serve. The difference is noticeable. Concorde room is delightful at T5, on board food blows VA out the park, and seats in BA first are more akin to retreat suite size for every seat. Only place I still prefer VA is the crew (normally). BA are a little more stiff but in first are very attentive.
I think it’s slightly unfair to compare BA first to VA UC though as VA is certainly a business product not a First experience. My biggest gripe with VA is the menu choices/experiance. BA & Qatar are light years ahead

Thanks both.

Decision has been made Virgin flight now cancelled and BA First purchased.

Excited is an understatement :-D
First time in first and will be amazing to experience and compare against Virgin

Here's hoping we have made the right choice :-P

Have not flown BA 1st for a few years, but in comparison with Virgin UC it is far superior.

Flew last year with Virgin after many, many years away and we found it very disappointing , uncomfortable seat and abysmal tv, and poor service and meals. Even the club world cabin is better.

The 1st seats are bigger more comfortable and very private, very large screens for viewing and much more attentive crews.

Enyoy your experience, you will.

Yeah, you've made the right decision. Personal preference, but I'd rate them as:

1. BA F
2. BA Club Suites
3. VS Old UC
4. VS New UC
5. BA Old Club World

A lot would swap my 3rd & 4th around, but I like the bar.

Sounds like we have made the right choice after all.

I have watched countless YouTube videos since booking and it looks to be a very special experience. Most excited for the Concorde lounge ( may geek out a little at the nose cone)

Flying on the 787-9 and managed to secure 2F and 2K. Hopefully no one takes 1K and I can get a window seat. Either that or find someone willing to gift a spare gold status lol
