If i buy a full ucs fare with cash ans one with miles for a friend, will the one i pay for earn miles?
ok this is my plan, my ovva arf and me have 91K miles each,
we go to vegas again, I buy a ucs and spend 62.500 on a companion ticket, but earn an extra 20k on my ticket.
the following year the ovva arf does the same for miami,
then the next year we both book a pe with cash and upgrade with miles
to ucs to orlando.
does that sound like a good plan?

Seriously, though, providing you'll be left with a total of 80k miles between you (split either 100/0, 75/25 or 50/50 for FC's sake...) and you can actually get the reward availability, it all seems to work out OK.
HOWEVER, you may find that the cheapest UCS ticket x 2 is still cheaper than the full J you'll need to make use of a Companion Ticket. Might be worth investigating first [:0]
