Virgin Blue Airlines says it has increased its share of Australia's domestic travel market to 30% prior to a possible "price war" with Qantas Airways. Virgin Blue managing director, Brett Godfrey, said figures released by Australia's Department of Transport & Regional Services indicate that the airline has increased its share of the domestic market by more than two per cent since August 2003. Godfrey noted the airline has a 30.4% share of the domestic market on all routes, and even more just on the routes the carrier actually competes on.
