I have taken out 2 MBNA VS Credit Cards and was told I would get bonus miles (2000 for the £1 = 1 mile and 4000 for the £80 fee £1 = 2 miles) Total 6000 extra miles [8D]
MBNA won't credit the bonus miles[:(!] saying its up to Virgin however MBNA are the ones who credit my monthly miles.
Has anyone had this problem and can anyone help?
Thanks

Hi,

This has been covered quite a few times as it must happen to a fair few people.

Give the Virgin Members shop a call as they are the ones who are actually crediting your monthly miles.

http://uk.virginmoney.com/members-shop/

Although you will only get 2k or 4k miles, depending on which card you took out, not a total of 6k.

Thanks,

Steven

Thanks for the quick reply. I did a quick search but must have missed the answer [:I]

I have taken out both credit cards so will they only pay out on one?

I've just applied for the CC too - I'll watch my mileage closely...

You should get all the miles, unless the scheme as changed since I did exactly the same trick!

Also, if your credit rating can stand it, you can also apply for BMi-branded MBNA cards which give 20k Diamond Club miles each time. I've had three (count 'em!) so far which, at 60k, is more than enough for a long-haul Virgin or BMI economy or, flying BMI metal, 37.5k miles plus 350 quid for a Business Class ticket from Manchester to Las Vegas. :D

I can't say enough about the VS miles earning CC. I LOVE it and have had nil problems with it over the last 13 months. 100k miles and a companion ticket can't be wrong!!

Randalf,

I assume you cancelled, waited 2-3 months then reapplied, rather than having 3 BMI MBNA cards at the same time???

Well, here's the thing. I *should* have done it that way but I kept asking for cards until they said no. At that point you get a form "sorry, no more credit letter" but these "borderline" cases must be checked on a case-by-case basis since when I tried again, I got a call from one of their credit agents who promptly cancelled three "dead" cards for me, took this "spare" credit and put it onto a newly-approved card! Thus I'm now waiting for BMI card number four to arrive!

Assuming you have made a purchase on the card....

as has been suggested in prior posts, best to contact the members
shop to chase it up. No miles had pitched up in my a/c either until I phoned them.

Anybody out there that did actually get them credited without prompting ? Maybe a survey is in order.

Only been a couple of weeks for me so far waiting for my 2000 bonus miles......haven't had the miles from any purchases yet but only been a few days there as well. Do these go on every month after the statement is sent out or what?

So, should have the following coming with any luck:

16 miles from the casino - played my bonus amount for a bit (so 10,096 miles altogether from them)
1000 from my initial wine purchase - have emailed them about this as it's been over 4 weeks now and they said they would look into it
2000 from my Virgin CC + whatever I've spent so far

All adds up in the end.........

Would be nice if balance transfers could acrue points ;)
Tempted to transfer the balance from one card to this one, but sure I read somewhere that any payments are offset against the transfer rather than outstanding transactions first....
