I received a letter today from Customer Relations agreeing to refund my $1050 additional room charges and the $592 additional flight costs from our Bahamas trip. I have also been offered a £400 credit off my next Virgin Holiday as a gesture of goodwill which, I will happily accept.
This has been my only bad experience with VH and I feel they have redeemed themselves adequately with this action. My faith in the company is therefore undented (I had already booked another holiday with them before this was settled!) as this shows that where there is good reason to, they will accept the issues and give customer satisfaction even when things do go wrong. Well done VH.
