these points and cash deals are very very good value. They have been around for over a year now (at least) but are not obvious when you visit the starwood sites. If you constantly refresh a page then it will cycle through various adverts for special offers etc, and finally the cash/points will pop up. Hence its very good idea to bookmark the page you found as it can be very hard to find again!!!
These offeres used to be available for the Sheraton Skyline at Heathrow even on weekdays - I stayed 3 or 4 times on this offer saving 100's pounds! They also had the Westin near Times Sqaure in NYC as part of this offer - and that is usually a lot of money for a stay. Nothing in UK on offer for last 6 months - I check every so often.
