Hi All from Sydney,

Last week had the opportunity to fly on NZs new refitted 744 AKL SYD and very impressive indeed. As you may know, the new J product is based on UCS and, boy, did NZ make a wise investment. Loved the Otterman seats and the cabin ambience. The IFE was a 100% improvement on the existing IFE.Did'nt manage to put the seat in the lie flat position - din;t really seem worth it for a 3 hours flight.Unlike VS there is no bar area which is a pity but oh well.

Will be flying NZ in J long haul LHR - LAX, SFO AKL IN November and can't wait.

Also flying BOM LHR in UC with VS for the first time. Keeping my fingers crossed I may score a refitted A343.

ooohhhhh I had no idea that they'd refitted the Sydney - Auckland route ! I thought they were starting with LAX and SFO.

Does this mean I'll have a nice new shiney plane for our Sydney-Auckland in Novemeber?

Sorry, most unlikely. NZ was just doing a spot of proving/training on the AKL-SYD route prior to the planes going fully into service.
