I read somewhere that you can get a BA premium plus amex for £30 p.a. as opposed to £120 if you already have an Amex Gold. Well, I've had a BA premium plus for years now and last month I got the gold. Frankly, I'd rather keep the gold and so was going to cancel my Ba amex and reapply for the £20 p.a. regular account or demote it's status. So before I do that, does anyone know if it's possible to keep the BA card I have now but get the discount on annual fee? It's silly to be paying £220p.a for two accounts when Im really going to only use one.

Any idea on what my next move is? Call 'em? Write to them? Or simply cancel and reapply? And should I do that latter, how do I get the discount?!!

If you hold the Gold charge card at the time your BA Amex crosses it's yearly renewal date, you're entitled to the reduced fee of £30, and Amex might spot this and charge you accordingly.

If not, ringing the BA Amex customer services should quite easily elicit the refund of £90.
