I think it should be policy that the FAs must have a SLOW cabin walk-through every so often - say 30 minutes - with more frequent walk-throughs in between.
By slow, I mean actually checking to see if everyone is OK - not necessarily disturbing the pax to ask them, but if they're looking wide-eyed and expectant then ask what they would like. The other walk-throughs don't have to be like this, but at least you know the FAs are there and you don't have to feel like you're intruding by going to the front galley and asking.
