Checked in at around 6am for my flight to MCO.
The queue for check in was a little longer than expected, but moved fairly fast.
At check in, I found that my requested seats were taken. This wasnt too much of an issue, but i wasnt to impressed with the check in assistants attitude.
In the terminal, I enjoyed an over priced snack from Upper Crust and had a brief walk around the shops.
Boarding time came, and I moved along to the gate. I saw that my plane was to be G-VROS 'English Rose'. My last flight on her was in 2003 from MCO.

Boarding was a complete shambles, no thanks to the reconstruction work (about time...) taking place on the surrounding area.
Boarded almost last, luckily, there was space for overhead storage as I was in a subsection, and a place which looked very good for exiting the plane.

Flight departed almost ontime, and we headed north towards the northern atlantic. Drinks were served around 40 minutes into the flight, I chose a coke, and I also ate several bags of pretzels, seeing as others around me didnt like them.

Chose to watch 40 year old Virgin, as I enjoyed this at the Cinema, and it proved good for a few laughs, and then Lunch was served.
The choice was of:
Chicken, with potatoes and stuffing
Beef with a mustard sauce
Spinach ravioli

I chose the chicken. It was tender and juicy. A little on the small side, but the rest of the meal made up for that. The desert was very tasty, and I wanted more... but I suppose I should watch that wasteline [;)] The wine they served was also very nice, and the glass was too small.

The film ended, and I decided to listen to some music, so i read my magazine, and listened to Avenged Sevenfolds 'City Of Evil' Album.
After walking round the cabin (seeing how full economy was...) I settled back in, and chose to watch 'Slapshot 2' on my media center. Whilst I enjoyed this film (A good choice if your a hockey fan...) Ice creams were served. It was a strawberry and vanilla ice cream bar, and damn tasty too. I will always congratulate VS on having unusual and tasty ice creams, and again, this was a good choice.

By the time my film had ended, I switched over to Southpark, and at that moment, the afternoon snack was served.
This consisted of a sandwich and a bag of fruit.

There was some turbulance here but it was nothing major, and the flight remained smooth for the remainder.
The flight landed at around 3:30pm local time.
My seating position gave me a head start, and I beat Premium Economy and Upperclass off the plane, clearing customs before the queues built up. I was slowed down however later, by the slow luggage system at MCO.
Overall, the flight was enjoyable, and the cabin crew were excelent, and were more than happy to get me another can of drink when requested.

MCO-LGW
Check in at Downtown Disney was fast, and meant less time at MCO airport. The staff here were very friendly, and efficient, and I even got my requested seat, 60K.
At Orlando, boarded dead on time, and it was more organised here, and I boarded relitvely quickly. My plane was to be Ladybird G-VAST, meaning I finally get to try odyssey.

Once onboard, I settled into my seat, I flicked through the TV guide and found a few films I wanted to watch, and awaited departure.

Unlike previous flights, skymap was on through the take off sequence but was shortly removed for the joys of sky news. This was followed by an advert sequence, which I didnt find too impressive, considering you pay enough for the flight.
Drink service came as usual, and I settled in to watch Domino.
Meal service started, and I was almost first to be served getting a choice of:
BBQ Chicken
A Beef Stew
(I missed this option)
I chose the BBQ chicken. It was nice, but I found it a little too spicy for my enjoyment, but the wine accompnying it was nice, though sadly the desert was too rich to enjoy.

After my meal I decided to play some games, and spent about an hour or so playing 'Who wants to be millionaire', 'Solitare' and other games at random.
I then decide to get some sleep.
However, I am woken by turbulance and the seatbelt light sound.
This was no ordinary turbulance however, and seemed pretty extreme with me flying everywhere. Ive never experienced turbulance this bad before. To take my mind off of it, I played some solitare on the TV system.
An hour or so later, turbulance over, but I cannot sleep, so i watch some Southpark.
About 7am, breakfast is served.
This consists of a 'fruit salad' containing 2 grapes, 2 pieces of melon and two pieces of pineapple. Im also given an muffin and a nasty tasting Orange juice.

Meals were collected, I play some more games and the flight nears LGW.
Landing was bumpy through the clouds, and we touched down at around 9am.
Took 20 minutes for me to deplane however.

Overall, this again was a great flight, spoilt by the poorer food.
The service was good throughout the journey.

These were two excelent examples of VS flights in Y at their best.
Thankyou Virgin!

I hope you enjoyed my report, and I hope you liked my photos. (can you guess the ones I used my camera phone with, and the ones I used a digital camera with?)

Kev

Thanks for the trip reports! Interesting to hear so many comments on the BBQ chicken! It sounds as though not getting the seat you requested on the way out was a blessing in disguise if you were able to beat everyone else off! Wonder if you were assigned this by way of apology for not getting your prechosen seat?

Re: the pictures question.

I'd hazard a guess that the ones on pre-takeoff/post landing were taken with the mobile phone and the others in flight were taken with your digital camera? I mean - you're hardly going to be posting on a public forum 'I ignored the direct instructions of flight crew to turn off all mobile devices even those with a flight safe mode and leave them switched off until safely inside the terminal building' now, are you? [;)].

Good TR, Which Y seat where you in that gave you the headstart over UC and PE? Maybe useful for other Y pax to know where to sit.

I was seated in row 23 (Seat F). They have a slightly limited recline, but the quick exit makes up for all.

You mentioned a media centre. What is that ? Something on the plane or something you brought on?

Was something I brought with me. £180, 20GB [:D] (Link

Congratulations to Decker for guessing what photos were taken when.

Thanks for your replies
