Checked in on line the night before allowing us to avoid the tremendous queues at Gatwick when we arrived the following morning. Passed through security with no issues. Boarded first for the economy cabin having pre booked seats 61,62 A and C.

We flew on English Rose the only draw back being the IFE (Nova). The cabin crew were really fantastic for the whole flight, which given the number of small excited children at the start of the school holidays, was no mean achievement!

Arrived in Orlando - had to wait 30 minutes after landing for a thunderstorm to clear before being allowed to stand. Even with being seated at the back we had cleared imigration, collected baggage (which came through with the UC bags?) and picked up our hire car within an hour of reaching stand.

Then on to a fantastic holiday [:D]

Hi Fontyflyer,

Did you not get held up at the baggage check-in? We were on VS027 on the 26th and spent 50 minutes trying to drop our bags off (arrived at airport at 8:50 - it took longer than the normal check-in queue).

Anyway similar experience after that to you, we had 62 and 63 a & c - great seats. Immigration no problem.

However, we then spent 2 hours for a vehicle - well done Budget! They had run out of cars so I will not recommend them - during which we enjoyed the storm you referred to.

Then on, of course, to a fantastic holiday.

Trevor

I guess we arrived a bit earlier despite flying later (we always arrive early!) at most we waited 15 minutes.
