I shall give it a go. Some of the reviews I have seen criticise it because of not what it is but because it was not what they wanted it to be.
Was also an interesting documentary about Pan Am (mus not call it 'Pam Ann'!) on BBC 2 on Saturday - repeated tomorrow at 23:20

It does too.
I am going to check in and see what its like, lots of hype and I just hope it lives up to that!!
I was really looking forward to Pan Am after watching all the adverts for it in the US but thought the show was terrible and incredibly boring. It was a real let down after all the hype.
The documentary last weekend wasn't bad. Pity the series doesn't sound like it'll match up.
It is actually not to bad, certainly I do spend part of the time pointing out certain things that are wrong with the show, but the producers of it seem to off gone to great lengths to make it as accurate as possible.
There is a sub plot in it that I don't think is necessary, as the show goes along they seems to be disappearing which isn't a bad thing.

I watched the first episode on the way back from MCO last month, and was very disappointed. Cliché, predictable and boring are the three words I would use to describe it.
Well I watched it and it was pleasant enough.
I will watch more episodes but it won't be a programme I move heaven and earth to watch.

Huzzah for International Jet-setting !
I also watched last night and thought it was ok. A bit formulaic, but essentially what I expected. Though Nurse Jackie, it ain't!
Not sure, still think some of it looks like a VS advertisement. Would like to see more planes. Will give it a go but won't worry if I forget to set the Sky+ box.
Thought that the spying stuff was a bit naff - but then remembered through my chardonnay addled brain that the ex-wife of a friend of mine did various courier/information collection duties while working as a stewardess on an airline in the 60s/70s. Hmmm, has she been writing the scripts?

Me too, just watched the first episode.
Easy on the eye and rather nostalgic. Nothing too difficult to follow so a pleasant way to spend some time on a winter's evening.

Watched the first three episodes back-to-back last night. Love it; it's my new guilty pleasure.
My only question is: how come exactly the same crew get to fly together on every single flight...?

Indeed and would they let two sisters fly as part of the same crew too?
The whole spy plot is already getting boring though.
That said not too demanding to watch.

Absolutely a guilty pleasure. Christina Ricci's paralysed forehead is a bit bizarre however. Not very 1960s.

Well I am glad to see some people liking it.
The whole spy thing starts to fade away after the Berlin episode.
As I said there are some things that clearly would never happen, but they do go on to semi explain those away, young captain, sisters flying together etc

Love it for the eye candy :-)
