The V-Flyer Booze Cruise appears to be taking shape.[:D]

I mentioned the idea to the Director of Marketing last Thursday at the Heroes 'do', and she seemed up for coming along too. Once Bazz has more details, perhaps I should follow that up and see if it was just the Champagne talking [;)] Be good to have some of the Virgin folks join us, and a river cruise might just tempt them out of Crawley.

Well, subject to work constraints, I think a booze cruise along the Thames would suit me fine! [:)]

As Decker says, central London landmarks are the order of the day, so the nearer the centre it starts the better, and of course that happens to be quite convenient for the eastenders amongst us (I might be alone on that one though...[:D])

My 'thinking' is that partners may not want to talk VS so will want stuff to look at. Central London provides that in quantity :) Mind you so does Bourbon Street NOLA is tonight is anything to go by [;)]

If we go out of Maidenhead we would be limited to in the up river direction probably Marlow which would include the spectacular Clivedon Reach a very picturesque stretch of the Thames and if we went down river it would be Windsor so some nice views of Windsor Castle and all the celebs homes at Bray.

I don't have any contacts for the tidal Thames, below Teddington Lock, where the Houses of Parliament are, so can't offer any bargains on that stretch.

Used to have a boat moored at Brentford Dock but all contacts lost. Can ask around BUT guess we need consensus on whether tidal is preferable to non-tidal.

As long as my beer goes from the glass to my throat, I'm not that bothered [:D]

You missed out the mouth bit, is this because to it doesn't usually touch the sides? [:D]

I'm happy to make the arrangements, if we are going out of Maidenhead?

Still waiting on the costs, trying to make sure we get the max discount [:D]

Give it a couple of days and we can start firming things up.

Well I have now got some prices, at last!

The boat is currently available for both the August 21st and September 25th dates.

Price quoted for the boat and a four piece Jazz band is 850 this will accomodate up to about 45 people so somewhere over 30 would be good.

A disco could be provided if required in place of the Jazz Band saving about 50.

Food:
Bar-be-que would be 14.47 per head
Finger Buffet would be 8.50 per head, both plus VAT

So doing the math, if we had 30 people it would cost between 45.33
(Jazz & BBQ) and 35.66 (Disco & Finger Buffet) per head.

Booze is not included in those prices so you need to factor that in aswell.

Obviously if we had more than 30 the price per head would drop but conversely if it were fewer the price would rise, I guess at 30 it just about makes sense, below than number, probably not?

Edited to copy most of the text to the opening post to make it clearer for everyone, Bazz.

Bazz

Either option is good with me - Sept 25th is the much preferred date.

I dont have any plans as yet for either date so im cool with whatever is booked.

Personally, id prefer the finger buffet as there is more choice available. Im easy when it comes to music, although the disco is more likely to encourage some drunken dancing, whch could be good for the photos section of the board [;)]

Have we reached a decision about partners yet?

Add me in for the 25th please.

preference would be for jazz and buffet but this will not stop me from coming if this is not the case.

Mrs Buns would be intersted if she knows there are non vflyers about who she can converse with[:D]
