At Expedia or Direct

For Friday and Saturday Night
1 bed (non-flex), its 150
1-bed (flex), its 166
2-bed (non-flex), its 250
2-bed (flexible) its 268

For just Saturday Night
1 bed - 84 (flexible) (80 at Expedia for non-flex)
2 bed - 144 (flexible) (134 at Expedia for non-flex)

...interesting, for a two bedroom apt booking direct now offers up a cheaper flex rate than non-flex, ie. (per night) 170 for adv purchase and 126 for flex..weird?

I think the flex rate is there to show that you are flexible on your dates and that the dates/accommodation you've booked may be subject to change and it's reflected on the price tag. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Tis simple (ish), you move out of Hull and start a new life in Manchester.[:p]

One good thing is that you won't get a load of abuse heading towards you then over where you live.

Mrs D has indicated that we might be able to make it after all. Naturally contingent on such complexities as where in the world I am etc... so provisional for us.

But that's one of the best things about Manchester centre - 15 minutes walk from one end to the other with all (well, most) of the shops your heart can desire, including, of course, Harvey Nicks.

Two other suggestions for places to stay.

The Renaissance on Blackfriars: lobby isn't up to much but rooms are big. (Unlike the Midland, where the reverse used to be true). Used to be (maybe still is) the crew hotel for a couple of airlines (AA and SQ?).

The Place Apartment Hotel: used this for both leisure and business stays. Very coveniently located for Picadilly Station

I've always enjoyed the Malmaison in Manchester... just a thought!

We did look at the Malmaison, as we have used them in the past for socials. The rates were a little higher for that particular weekend and it was noted that the bar probably wouldn't meet the needs of the group.

Think Fozzyo might be on that, but I'll let him chip in when he's next on.

There are different tours available for Concorde...
http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/web. ... t/Concorde

What I noticed is that they do a Private Group Tour, which may be better suited to us but it depends on whether they're having tours of Concorde on that date anyway.

If anyone needs any help in booking the Concorde tour just let me know, I'm regularly down at the viewing park at MAN any way so can always ask for more info when I'm there.

How flexible is the venue for late additions? You should have the dosh for Marcus and I, but don't know whether there will be a last-minute third.

I'm talk to them this morning, we are having a private tour just for V-Flyers so I suspect they should be fairly flexible. Will confirm later on.

Thanks to everyone who has paid! :)

No longer flying up. I've managed to snag 2 Virgin trains First Class tickets for 30.50 each by only booking singles. I'm on the 12:35 from London Euston if anyone else is letting the train take the strain.
