While that Hilton looks like a 1980's design failure from the outside, the INSIDE is very nice [y]

Sure there will still be alcohol available at the Footstock party afterwards. The no floats rule is strange though.

They'll be saying no nudity next!

Actually, they did kick about 'no nudity', but everyone realizes this is a hopeless one to enforce. The float rule is mostly down to some general safety concern, and back to the drinks rule - as Darren stated 'No Mobile Tiki Bar'. It's hard to drag kegs around on your back even if you're gonna walk the race.

It's stupid, borderline hysterical reaction. I'm one block from the route in the Haight near the alleged worst part of the course, and I hardly noticed anything last year. Admittedly I was working, and somewhat preoccupied, but i even dragged the car out to go for brunch mid-morning, and other than a few colourful early-finisher characters turning up in the restaurant, I was hard pressed to know what was happening. I'll spare you the 'silly b&*%ers don't they have anything better to worry about in these times' rant .......

Not looking good in my quest for a decent hotel. $349 at St. Francis and $369 at Hilton. You all did much better than this, correct?

No kegs. Floats okay but must 'pre-register'.

Group breakfast anyone on the Friday morning?

Of course. Lori's is my breakfast bar of choice when in San Francisco. Never had a bad meal yet.

Darren/Paul - what seats are you currently reserved in for the outbound party bus?

I'm going to speak to VS to see if they can get us all in the A-Zone as it has 14 seats, and currently we have 11 people travelling in Upper.

A-Zone currently:
James, Steve, Mat, Dean, Ian, Buns

No seat res (as only 24/25K left for pre-res currently):
Decker, Richard, Sarah

Unknown:
Darren, Paul

It's okay Decker - if we end up in the B Zone, it means we can get to the bar stools quicker when seatbelt sign goes out....
