LOL - I'm back home now - amazing how much you miss DSL when you have to go dial-up [:(!] Still toying with the idea of upgrading to 1Mb downstream, although it'll still only be 256kb upstream, which is annoying....

mcuth, I was walking through the Oracle today in Reading and spotted a stall for netvigator.co.uk - wireless broadband cheaper than NTL's cable modem, and you're in the coverage area (sadly I'm not - yet).
'ave a look. If they're any good once they get down to the sticks of South Reading I might sign up myself

Thanks for that (must admit when I walk through the Oracle, I tend to ignore the stalls ). Netvigator are cheaper than Pipex for both the 512kb & the 1Mb, I'm just not sure if the saving (~£5 per month) is worth the hassle of changing all 12 mailboxes over and the redundancy of my current kit
Cheers

Just had a quick look,
http://www.mcuth.co.uk is registered, but http://www.mcuth.com is still available :-)
You could have a header e:mail of [email protected] pointing to your pipex account or any other account.
(Sorry if this is teaching people to suck eggs )

I'll just concur with mcuth there about Pipex - been with them for approaching two years now and there's only rarely been any drops in services. Their news servers are very popular too, so they can go slow, but the email is pretty robust.
BTW, Pix's advice on email is very sensible. I have a domain name which redirects web and email so changing ISPs is never an issue. I recommend it to anyone, its pretty cheap and simple to set up.

How strange - I wonder who that Michael Cuthbertson could be? :D;)
I do have around 8 email accounts through my domain too right now, but I haven't yet gotten around to getting a decent multi-account web access program sorted out. The thing with my Pipex stuff is that it's really easy to access when I'm not at home.
I've just moved web hosting companies (hint, don't use Fasthosts [V]) and the new hosts give you so much freedom to tweak & install, so I may be coming up with a solution...ummmm.....soon
That said, I'm still really happy with Pipex (glad to see you are too onionz )
Cheers

Actually, I just realised - I used to have that one, but then the charges got a bit silly (and remember, I'm a Yorkshireman too )

AlanA - sorry, didn't see your reply before posting my extremely similar advice [:I]
mcuth - I use http://www.namezero.com - they charge about 15 dollars a year for unlimited aliases @yourdomain.com plus web redirection without any silly banners and they mask the real address with the domain address.

I've used them before too - some years ago and I didn't rate them then (YMMV these days of course ). Personally, I don't like web/email forwarding anyway [8D]
