I am reading "Skyfaring" by Mark Vanhoenacker at the moment and it got me thinking about my first ever flight on an aircraft...
1982
Monarch Airlines
Luton to Alghero, Sardinia
The most memorable part was take-off and landing of course, but also the the meal: meat pie, mashed potatoes and rockhard burnt peas. Dessert was half a tinned peach with a whirl of dream topping on top.
Needless to say, as an excited kid I ate the lot
What was you first flight? When, with what airline and where to? What is your most memorable aspect of your maiden flight?
