Spending time in T4 at JFK is a somewhat new experience . . . we arrived via VS003 from Heathrow (Upper Class) just before noon, cleared Customs and baggage claim in record time, and then had to wait for our 4:40 pm departure. This wouldn't have been so bad, except that Virgin Atlantic a) has no Revivals lounge at JFK, and b) the VS Clubhouse at JFK doesn't open until 2:30 pm. So, we had approximately 2.5 hours to sit around and wait before the Clubhouse opened, and only 90 minutes or so to enjoy it until our boarding call -- doesn't really work, does it? So . . . we hung out in the terminal itself, and while people watching can help pass the time, it was a L-O-N-G wait.

As for the "Virgin America experience" itself, once again VX proved itself to be a star among domestic (US) carriers. Everything -- from check-in to baggage claim -- was a piece of cake: smooth, easy, and as enjoyable as air travel can possibly be. Friendly crew on the ground and in the air took care of everything we wanted/needed; the in-flight meal(s) were as good as airline food can be*; and the in-flight crew were warm and responsive. Even baggage claim at SFO seemed to be faster than normal.

* I keep hearing rumors of "truly stunning cuisine" in the air, but "excellent" is something that has still eluded my taste buds.
